KEDE New Material – FAQ
Your Questions Answered: Sustainability, Applications & Quality of Cellulose Film
1. Product Information
Q: What is KEDE’s cellulose film made of?
A: Our cellulose film is produced from natural cellulose derived from wood pulp and cotton pulp. It is 100% biodegradable and eco-friendly. Learn more about our process and material in Natural Cellulose Film – Sustainable Packaging for the Future.
Q: What are the key properties of cellulose film?
A: Cellulose film is transparent and offers natural breathability, high gloss, and a crisp, paper-like tactile feel. It provides good tensile strength, heat resistance, antistatic performance, reliable printability, and can be twisted to hold its shape without rebound. With functional coatings, it can also deliver heat sealing capability and enhanced barrier performance. As a compostable packaging material, it is highly suitable for industrial production lines.
Q: What are the typical applications of cellulose film?
A: It is versatile and widely used across various industries. Key applications include liners for Spandex production, food packaging (fruit, vegetable packaging, and sausage casings), fireworks packaging, medical supplies, and automotive packaging. It is also an excellent choice for adhesive tapes and high-end product displays.
Q: How does cellulose film compare with plastic film?
A: Unlike traditional plastic film, cellulose film is plant-based, biodegradable, and compostable, while offering excellent transparency and strength.
Q: Does KEDE’s cellulose film have food-contact safety certifications?
A: Yes, our cellulose film is FDA certified for food-contact applications. Production is managed under ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 systems. See more certifications (FDA, SDS, ROSH) on our About Us page.
2. Eco-Friendly & Sustainability
Q: Is cellulose film biodegradable or compostable?
A: KEDE’s cellulose film is fully compostable. Made from natural cellulose, it breaks down safely into organic matter under industrial or home composting conditions. Learn more about compostable materials.
Q: Can you provide environmental certifications?
A: Yes. We can provide FDA, SDS, ROSH, and other testing reports upon request. Details are on our About Us page.
Q: How long does it take for cellulose film to degrade?
A: Typically about 2–3 months under proper composting conditions (actual time depends on temperature, humidity, and microbial activity). It returns to the environment without harmful residues.
